Biography of Tony Gomez


Antonio Davidson-Gómez is an educator, percussionist, and writer whose primary interest is the intersection of music, culture, language, and faith.
 
        
Tony’s musical experience includes over 15 years of professional performance in genres ranging from salsa to Caribbean steel drum music, flamenco, jazz, funk, reggae, Middle Eastern/Mediterranean, and contemporary liturgical music.

He has been a music minister and liturgical percussionist since his youth and now writes and presents workshops on integrating multicultural percussion in liturgy to reflect our diverse communities.

In addition to playing at the LA Congress and other conferences, Tony plays for liturgies, concerts, and dance recitals in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he resides.

He has taught bilingual elementary school and now teaches world music, Spanish, and sociology at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory High School.
