New Composer Showcase

Submission deadline is August 25th, 2006!

Part of the goal of the LWP conference is to foster new leaders and inspire emerging talent in the field of worship and liturgical music. To that end the New Composer Showcase will be a featured part of our conference and closing Unity Concert - where the music of selected up and coming composers will be featured among some of Catholic/Christians best.
Are you a new composer with music to share with the world? Do you know someone who does? Then this is your chance! Simply download the PDF New Composer Submission Form and License Agreement and send us your song! It’s that simple!


Michael Vincent Guzman Scholarship Award
for New Composers

Meant to assist new composers in furthering their music for Christ, The Michael Vincent Guzman Scholarship Award will be presented to the New Composer whose music best demonstrates a Passion for Christian Unity. Scholarship amount $500. Composers must be registered participants of this event and present to qualify.


Festival Day Stages
Entry deadline is August 25th, 2006! Hurry, stages are almost full!
Embracing the richness of our cultural diversity and musical traditions we will also be featuring “themed music” performances of Gospel, Gregorian Chant, Contemporary, Folk, Traditional Choir, Youth/Children’s choir, Hispanic, etc.

During meal times and breaks, we open our festival day stages around campus for people like you to share your talent. These are voluntary performances, which extend the opportunity to sell your CD at our "Community Booth", showcase your talent, and announce any upcoming performances.

Performance times are as follows:
Saturday, September 16, 2006

10:00 -10:30 am: Break & Day Stages (30 minute set)
12:15 - 12:45 pm: Lunch & Day Stages (30 minute set)
12:55 – 1:25 pm: Lunch & Day Stages (30 minute set)
3:00 - 3:30 pm: Break & Day Stages (30 minute set)

Time slots will be assigned by the LWP committee. Day Stages are meant for small to medium sized groups and cannot accommodate large choirs or orchestras.
Note: If planning to sell CD's that are currently offered by GIA, OCP, WLP, St. Monica Parish or any other participating publisher/reseller, please check with them beforehand to avoid any sales conflicts. Any CD’s offered for sale must abide by all copyright and applicable music license laws. Neither WMM/LWP nor St. Monica Church is responsible for any violations made by festival participants.
