Information and Facts

If I volunteer can I get into the conference?

Most of the volunteer positions are on the outside of the workshop areas. The positions on the inside are assigned to conferees (ushers & special needs), which allows them to still participate in the event. It is our desire that all conferees register for the conferences even if volunteering. Check with the volunteer coordinator to see if your position qualifies for an event pass.
Volunteers who work inside the workshop & concert areas and occupy a seat must have a paid registration for the conference. This includes:

1. Announcers
2. Ushers

How can I volunteer to serve at LWP’s offices?

Volunteering is very close to the heart of God. It represents the selfless, caring, giving qualities to which Christians are called. It suggests a sense of family where a growing love for God and relationship with Him is the goal, and a growing love for each other is part of the process. Sometimes the work is hard and the hours are long. Often individuals seem to labor in obscurity, making sacrifices that only the Lord can know. Such is the nature of serving.

All year round volunteers are needed in planning upcoming events. The office is located in Santa Monica, CA. Most assignments are available during regular business hours.

Does LWP! provide accommodations for out of town volunteers?

We are unable to assist out-of-town volunteers in securing local accommodations. For this reason we put an emphasis on recruiting local volunteers for each event.

Can I be assigned with my friends?

Yes. We try to place people together with their friends. When you register to volunteer, let us know with whom you would like to volunteer, or write the names and phone numbers on the recruitment form before you send it in. However, we encourage everyone to fellowship and meet someone new.

What kind of a commitment is required of a volunteer?

All we ask is that you commit to your scheduled shift(s). Most positions are broken up into 4-hour shifts.

How does the assignment process work?

The volunteer recruiting team is responsible for recruiting the volunteers for the conference. If your name is submitted by Internet, Volunteer Hotline, mail, or fax, it will be supplied to the recruiting team. They will assign the positions and shifts through dialogue with volunteer candidates. Volunteering early helps us maximize this valuable resource.

Can I bring my children when I volunteer?

Childcare will not be available. Please make alternate arrangements for young children.

Are there age restrictions for volunteers?

We encourage anyone from age 17 and up to volunteer.

Will parking and meals be provided for volunteers?

Parking is provided on a first come first serve. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Every event is different. Some venues have ample parking and others do not. Carpooling is encouraged and we ask that you allow time for traffic and parking delays. Some locations charge a fee for parking. Complimentary lunches are provided based upon your shift(s).

Is there a dress code?

Dress should be modest and casual but respectful. Comfortable shoes are a must. In addition, depending upon the time of year, you may want to bring a jacket or sweater or sunscreen and layered clothing.
